Lea Ann and Stuart Protest for Peace...

Sunday, March 16, the front page of The Washington Post has a headline that says:

"President to Seek End to Diplomacy"

(Allen, M. The washington post. Sunday, March 16, 2003. p. A1 column 1.)

How can we support a government that seeks an END to diplomacy?

March 15, 2003

Because our government will not listen to the polls that say the majority of American people are AGAINST war in Iraq, and that those who are not opposed to war ARE AGAINST war without UN approval, tens of thousands of people converged, again, on Washington on March 15, 2003.

Stuart and Lea Ann gathered again, with friends Randal, Doug Eileen, and Cliff, to show with a sheer sea of bodies that the polls don´t lie.
America DOES NOT SUPPORT war in Iraq.

Following are Pictures from the March 15th Rally.

Protest balloon in front of the monument.

This balloon was painted like the globe, sporting a No War On Iraq slogan. It floated, tethered by 3 folks wearing hats that said "Fascism Abatement Crew" and other similar quips, in front of the Washington Monument. How appropriate...

Marchers starting away from the monument. Where we were, people were already wrapped out of sight on 17th Street, and most of the people at the Sylvan Theatre (at the monument) hadn´t yet started.

Marchers on the street with Snipers on top of the red building

Marchers on 17th Street in front of the State Department. Notice that, although all of the protests have been peaceful and only a tiny handful of arrests have been made, there are police snipers on the roof of the Red building visible ahead and on the right.

Looking down Pennsylvania Avenue at the Capitol Building

A sea of protesters walking down Pennsylvania Avenue towards the Capitol. Marchers turned back towards Constitution a few blocks later.

The following is a series of banners that were four sided and carried along with the protesters. There are 7 of the 8 sides pictured here.

January 18, 2003 March

Hundreds of thousands gathered around the world to protest the war on January 18, 2003. Stuart and Lea Ann gathered, with friends Randal, Doug and Eileen, to show with a sheer sea of bodies that the polls don´t lie.
America DOES NOT SUPPORT war in Iraq.

Some of our pictures of our favorite banners that we saw.

This shot Stuart took from a tree he shimmied up into. Our fair heroes are in the foreground, along with the "impressive number" of protesters in the background.
